XX Athletic Race – Walk Grupo Comeca 2024: Two Decades of Tradition and Fellowship

Recognized as one of the most anticipated recreational events of the year, the Grupo Comeca Athletic Race—Walk celebrated its twentieth edition on Sunday, October 20. It reaffirmed its commitment to unity, integration, and promoting sports among employees, families, clients, and friends of all Grupo Comeca companies.
From the early hours of the day, excitement filled the air. At 6:00 a.m., participants gathered at the starting point, enjoying a vibrant atmosphere with music and warm-up sessions. The walk, which attracts more participants each year, began at 6:45 a.m. with more than 70 people ready to complete the route at their own pace, making this activity an ideal space for family integration.
The race officially began at 7:01 a.m., following an emotional prayer and the traditional countdown. With a challenging 10-kilometer route, runners faced the iconic climb of Alto de las Palomas, testing their endurance and determination.
For the second consecutive year, Emerson Xavier Elizondo Cubero (Envases Comeca) crossed the finish line first, clocking in at 33 minutes and 52 seconds, improving his previous year's record.
Shortly after, Kendall Sojo (Yema Dorada) and Wesly Peraza (Empaques Santa Ana) crossed the finish line in an exciting finale.
In the female category, Silvia Cortes claimed victory with a time of 43 minutes and 20 seconds, securing her title for the second consecutive year.
Every runner who reached the finish line was welcomed with applause, a well-deserved medal, and refreshments to replenish their energy. The event was marked by enthusiasm and camaraderie, reflecting the spirit of unity that defines Grupo Comeca.
