Grupo Comeca has experienced exponential growth in recent years, grounded in hard work, respect, and an austerity culture.

Today, having reached a sufficient level of maturity, there is a unique opportunity to consolidate and standardize the information and processes across its multiple business units.

In recognition of this advancement, the Executive Committee has launched the initiative “Project Newton,” inspired by the famous quote from scientist Isaac Newton: “If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” This phrase reflects the group’s pride in its achievements and determination to build upon them to reach more remarkable successes.

In the last edition of this newsletter, it was communicated that the Executive Committee has decided to initiate a project to create a Shared Services Center. This operational model specializes in providing one or several services to the rest of the organization and is characterized by the following features:

  • Common Infrastructure and Governance: Utilizes a unified infrastructure and governance model to support all levels, benefiting different geographies, business units, functions, and processes.

  • Centralized Organization: This organization enhances collaboration and exchange to improve the company's efficiency, effectiveness, and results at all levels.

  • Multifunctionality: Features shared leadership, methods, technologies, procedures, culture, and values.

This model has proven successful in numerous companies worldwide, including multiple examples in Latin America. The initiative was presented to all the group’s managers, who responded with great acceptance and sincere collaboration offers.

Currently, the project is in the design phase, with the structure, including reporting lines, leadership roles, and support for the Shared Services Center, being reviewed and validated. The team is confident that this initiative will generate numerous opportunities to improve efficiency and promote learning among participants.

Grupo Comeca hopes to count on the collaboration of all employees to achieve this initiative successfully.
