It is the result of the continuous application of an Occupational Health program, in which all employees have put their best effort and care.

On March 21, 2023, at 6:55 a.m. Metales Flix achieved a remarkable achievement: one year without having accidents at its facilities.
Mario Parajeles, General Manager, expressed his fulfillment on how one year without accidents is challenging, especially in a company with 145 employees. However, this accomplishment is crucial; it brings annual savings in the payment of the work risk policy.

Parajeles shared the graph in which a constant decrease in accidents can be observed from 2017 to 2022. For example, in 2017, 67 were registered, and by 2022, only 2 occurred.

These figures result from continuously applying an Occupational Health program, where everyone has put in their best effort and care.
Guiselle Porras, Head of Human Resources, shared how they completed 365 days without accidents.
In the Occupational Health area, self-care was encouraged among the personnel, trying to surpass the record that had been previously reached of 155 accident-free days.
During the last year, the company organized several activities to serve as motivation and reminder, for example:
Together, the Production and Occupational Health area leaders incorporated the first “Accident Rate Tabacón,” a plant native to Alajuela, Costa Rica, under the care of Production personnel. The dynamic is that for each accident that occurs, a leaf is cut, reminding daily of the importance of caring for oneself as a team and allowing the plant to grow.
Hand in hand with the Occupational Health Commission, games were held for the first 100 days without accidents, whose objective was to remember that each part of the body is vital and, therefore, we must take care of them.
Online reports opened so that all personnel could confidentially report unsafe conditions that they observed since it is everyone's job to ensure safety.
Finally, to celebrate the achievement, the Costa Rican first-division soccer team, Sporting FC, visited the company to share with the collaborators. Both in soccer and at work, one must do things as a team to achieve goals.
Under the motto: "The challenge continues" the collaborators of Metales Flix will continue working for more accident-free days.
